wabi sabi series
This body of work explores the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi, in its most basic explanation, is the reverence for simple beauty and an appreciation of the effects of age and a recognition of the natural imperfections in our world. Tied to Zen Buddhism, wabi-sabi carries a subtle spiritual component, just as these abstract photographs do for me.
